I keep using this term ‘lifestyle blog’, with a new lifestyle post every Wednesday. And whilst many of you may have stumbled across other lifestyle bloggers and understand the term, I know that there might be some of you out there who are still looking at me blankly.
By definition from Google, “A lifestyle blog is best defined as a digital content representation of its author’s everyday life and interests. A lifestyle blogger creates content inspired and curated from their personal interests and daily activities.”
So, I thought what might help with this is if I introduce you to some of my favourite equine and country lifestyle bloggers.
The following list of bloggers have inspired and motivated me on this journey, going from being more than just ‘a photographer who blogs’ and becoming ‘a blogger’ in my own right. It’s still a work in progress, but here are some of the people that have inspired me…
One of, if not, my absolute favourite, is Harriet Lily Edwards’ blog, A Girl About Country. Harriet is a farmer’s daughter, from the heart of England, with a passion for country and British style. Her blog is beautifully put together and there is something about her posts that feel so authentic.
Until very recently, ‘So Victoria’ went by the name of ‘Victoria’s Cottage’, but the blog has just undergone a rebrand and is still just as fabulous. One of the things that drew me to this blog was that Victoria is not only a blogger, but also a photographer, so I immediately identified with her. Of course, this means that her blog is full of beautiful photographs.
Victoria lives in a cottage in Worcestershire and blogs about her home, her photography and her life in general. Check out the blog at >>> http://sovictoria.co.uk

Firstly, can we just appreciate the name of this blog. It’s brilliant, isn’t it?! Mud on My Mulberry is run by Andrea Owen, who lives in Oxfordshire. She has two horses, two dogs, loves the country life but knows that country folk can enjoy dressing up and looking nice, too.
Andrea’s blog features everything from beauty, to fashion, to her British Dressage adventures. You can find it at >>> https://www.mudonmymulberry.com/about

My next pick is a bit different, as it’s a dog blog. Emma Bearman, from Warwickshire, owns English Springer Spaniel, Alfie, and together they blog about all things dog related and it’s one of my favourites! Again, Emma is a photographer, so her blog and Instagram are beautiful. Alfie is a very experienced model, lol.
On Alfie’s blog, you’ll find everything from canine style, to tried and tested products, to dog friendly hotels and afternoon tea! It’s well worth a browse >>> http://alfiebear.com

In The Country is another blog that has just undergone a rebranding. Until a few days ago, it was known as It’s a Country Life, and has just launched the first edition of it’s magazine. Self confessed ‘country bumpkin’, Hollie-Ella, from West Sussex, documents her life with her horses, dog and farmer boyfriend.
Ok, this one is a little different. I know I said I was showing your lifestyle blogs, and this isn’t so much that, as more of an equestrian blog, but I love it and I had to share it with you. Diary of a Wimpy Eventer follows the journey of Victoria Brant and her horse, Pat, after Victoria lost her confidence in the saddle and became determined to get it back. Her writing style is hilariously witty and so easy to read. I think you’ll really enjoy this one. Victoria has also written a book, which I have and can’t wait to read.
Charlotte, of Charlotte in England, lives in Derbyshire and works as a designer. Her blog is full of outfit inspiration and is heavily focused on country fashion, with a little bit of lifestyle thrown in for good measure. If you are a country fashion fanatic, this one is for you.
A Country Lady is run by Abi Rule, is an amateur show jumper with a love for equestrian fashion. Her blog covers equestrian sports, life, fashion and fitness, as well as showcasing other riders and their stories. This blog really does cover a little bit of everything equine and country and is a real allrounder.
McClounie & Armstrong is run by mother and daughter team, Morag McClounie and Pippa Armstrong. With Morag living in Suffolk and Pippa living in Kew, so they have a unique perspective of a country girl living in the big city. It’s a nice mix of both town and country living.
Another Spaniel blog. Who knew this breed were so good with the written word? Lol! Steph is another photographer, from Wiltshire, who owns two Spaniels, called Severus and Lily. Together, they post about doggy style, travel, tips and events. And Sev and Lily are super cute!
I love that Kate’s blog comes with a slightly different perspective. As somebody who didn’t grow up in the countryside, but has discovered a love for all things rural, in her adult life, Kate in the Country is slightly different from our other blogs. Kate has a career up in London but a weekend passion for shooting and country brands.
The blogging industry is huge and I’m sure there are lots that I’ve missed out. I’d love to hear your recommendations for new reads in the comments.
