Last week I had the most beautiful sunset session with Amelia and her horse, Ace, over in Suffolk, after her sister purchased the shoot for her, for her 30th birthday.

And I can’t help but say it again, these evening shoots just make my heart happy! Look at this beautiful light!!

Ace, who’s show name is Milan, is a fourteen year-old Knabstrupper and has been with Amelia for ten years. For a short while, Ace went on loan and had a career playing international horseball, but he and Amelia enjoy everything from drag hunting, to team chasing, dressage and hunter trials together.

Amelia says that Ace loves to show off, and that was certainly evident when we let him loose on our shoot, for some shots of him galloping around his field! And apparently he doesn’t reserve this for the field, either, and has reguarly been seen passaging, out hunting. Lol!

Amelia tells me that Ace is her way of de-stressing, away from her busy, stressful work life. The pair have started competing in one day events, now that Ace is slightly more sensible, in his older age. And Amelia says she’d also like to take him up a level to intermediate team chasing, next season, too.

Thank you so much for having me, Amelia, and letting me photograph your stunning boy. He was such a poser! And of course, thank you to Bryony, for arranging the shoot in the first place.
