Last weekend, I took the very scary plunge and attended my first ever bloggers event. The Blogosphere Christmas Festival.
Blogosphere, for those of you who’ve never heard of it, is a quarterly publication for bloggers and vloggers, with everything you’ll ever need to know about the industry printed inside. It’s a packed, hefty read and includes interviews, articles and tips from some of the industry’s most prolific content creators. As well as who to follow, social media advice, gorgeous imagery and tonnes more.
I’m a huge fan of the magazine and follow everything Blogosphere puts out online, so the event was a no-brainer, for me.
However, I do often find myself feeling a little but out of place, when it comes to fitting under the general ‘blogger’ umbrella. Yes, I am a lifestyle blogger, but my genre of ‘country lifestyle’ makes me much more niche than most. And I find that most events, magazines, articles, etc. are geared towards either beauty and fashion bloggers, or mummy bloggers, for example.
I haven’t yet read an article for the equestrian and country lifestyle blogger and I won’t be holding my breath in the hopes of spotting one any time soon. Lol.
So, I wasn’t sure how much I would get out of the event. But I was keen to attend anyway, in the hopes that some of what I might learn would apply to my very specialised content.
And when I got the schedule for the day through, via email, I definitely felt a lot more encouraged. There were a whole variety of panel speakers, sharing their knowledge on building a personal brand online, how to price your sponsored content, working with brands on content creation, finding your voice online on social media and all sorts of juicy blog-related topics that I could identify with.
And they certainly didn’t disappoint on the day. I was only able to stay for three of the talks, but I learned so much that I was able to take away with me. And I was frantically typing new to-do lists and new ideas into my phone, the whole train journey home.
I left feeling so inspired.
So I just wanted to say a huge thank you to the Blogosphere team, for putting on such a fab event. I can’t wait for the next one!
And I’ll leave you with a video that includes some of the most valuable parts of the panel talks, that I was able to catch.
