I’ve visited Rayne Riding School before, a couple of times for shoots, but my very first visit was as a child, for riding lessons. So it’s always quite nostalgic to go back to this busy riding school and livery yard, to meet new clients.
On this occaision I was meeting up with Charlotte and her two beautiful bays, Ciao and Strata.
First up we had handsome Strata. He is fifteen years old and Charlotte has owned him for eleven years! Charlotte says that she has always just guessed that he came from Ireland, but doesn’t have any real idea of his history.
Strata and Charlotte have done a bit of everything together, but sadly, his sarcoids now mean that he lives a slower pace of life. Charlotte tells me that the vet has advised that they keep him in work until he tells them he is ready to stop and that he enjoys having something to do. So Strata’s main job is now teaching people to ride, in the riding school at Rayne.
Next up was Ciao, the diva, or ‘Ciao Bella Herself’ as she is more offically known.
Ciao is a beautiful six year-old Hannoverian and is very enthusiastic about life, lol. The pair compete in dressage, currently at novice level. Charlotte tells me that she has had a few battles with her confidence, on Ciao, but that they have worked hard and are making progress. Their plan is to progress with their dressage career and see how good this little mare can be.
Thank you so much to Charlotte, for having me and for letting me photograph these two absolutely gorgeous horses. Both of whom LOVED the camera and made my job super easy!
If you’d like a shoot like Charlotte’s, you can book yourself in right here.
