Guys, I’m branching out!! And I’m excited!

I’ve been wanting to incorporate more lifestyle posts into my blogging schedule for a while now, but have been dragging my feet because a leap into something different is always a little nail biting . But finally, I found the perfect place to start… With a house and home love of mine, candles!

And I’m hoping you’re going to enjoy entering into this new leg of the journey with me.

Confession: I’m a little bit obsessed. My home is filled with candles and my husband is honestly a little hesitant to light them without permission, as they each have their own little place and purpose. Some are expensive brand names, some I have picked up from market stalls, some smell delicious, whilst some just look the part. And, along with reed diffusers and room fragrances, they adorn almost every surface in my house.

There’s just nothing like coming home to a beautifully scented house!

So, whilst wanting to delve further into the world of Lifestyle Blogging, I thought it’d be fun to embark on a search for my favourite equine and country themed candles and room fragrances. I ordered some and was kindly sent others, by some very generous brands. And I sifted through them, discarding a few, to try and find the very best, so that I could report back to you guys!

And here are my top four…

Hanrose

I managed to get my hands on three of the Hanrose handmade soy candles and I absolutely love them! I have three full sized candles, Beach Ride, It’s Show Time and Tack Room.

Beach Ride has a refreshing  ‘ocean breeze’ scent, with salty, outdoor undertones. It’s Show Time is a creamy coconut scent, perfectly designed to replicate the smell of coconut conditioner. And then probably my favourite of the three, Tack Room has a rich, leather smell, almost like a cologne.

Hanrose also very kindly sent me the Heart Melters of each of their other scents. Each ‘Heart Melter’ is approx 7g giving you up to 8 hours of aroma and comes in its own organza bag and then collectively in a paper Pick & Mix bag. To name a few, there is Apple Explosion, Unicorn Fluff, Riding in the Rain, Half Halt and Summer Meadow, which is another firm favourite of mine!

How fab are those names? These would just make the perfect gift for any horsey girl who loves her home! And can we just talk about the fact that it comes packaged in popcorn?! Genius!

The Library of Fragrance

This one came from a little tip I received on Twitter… The Library of Fragrance specialise in creating colognes using the scents that are all around us in our daily life, no matter how odd or unusual. With over 300 unique fragrances, there were a few that fit my requirements and I decided to go with ‘Stable’.

I was quite intrigued, as I don’t think having my house smell like a stable has ever been something I’ve aspired to. But The Library of Fragrance have done a great job of making ‘stable’ into a really attractive cologne. But someone on Twitter suggested that these colognes can also be used as room fragrances, and it really works!

It has hints of fresh hay and something sweeter. It’s quite a masculine scent, but I like it!

There are also fragrances called Dirt, Saddle, Riding Crop and Fresh Hay, which I’m definitely going to try.

Wilkins & Sons Ltd. of Tiptree

Many of you will have heard of Tiptree jams, from Wilkins & Sons Ltd. They’re pretty famous and everything about the brand is quintessentially English countryside. Also, Tiptree happens to be about fifteen minutes down the road from me!

As a family, we’ve always been big fans and regular customers of the Tiptree brand and regularly visit their various tea rooms, across Essex. So, when I heard that they were releasing a range of candles and diffusers inspired by the fruits and products they produce, I got a little excited!

I was given this beautiful box of four mini candles to try out, and they’re a hit! My favourite is the Blackberry scent, but they’re all delicious. Now to decide which to buy in the larger sizes!

Sophie Allport

And lastly, but certainly not least, we have the super cute Sophie Allport candle, in Fresh Cut Grass.

I have followed Sophie Allport on Instagram for a while now and I love all of their products. They offer beautiful house and home items, such as kitchen accessories, fine bone china, lampshades and even hats and scarves, all with Sophie’s original illustrations on them.

The Fresh Cut Grass candle is, as the name suggest, a fresh and summery scent. I’ve had it burning at my desk while I work and dream of being outdoors, instead of stuck at the computer, and it’s done just the job!
