I know, I know! I’m totally dining out on this whole wedding thing. But I promise, after this blog post, there is only one more to come, which will be the official wedding video. And after that I will refrain from mentioning the words wedding and honeymoon again for a while! 😉
But anyway, a lot of you have been asking if I will be posting any of my wedding photographs. I have put a couple onto Instagram and may continue to add the odd one here and there, but I thought the best way to do it would be to dump all of my favourites into one blog post, for anybody who is interested, to browse through.
So, I apologise if this post takes ages to load and breaks your computer, but I have a lot of favourites.
With huge thanks to our incredibly talented wedding photographers, Jacques and Natalie, at Real Simple Photography.
We had always wanted to get married at my family home. We had it converted, over fifteen years ago, from a derelict barn, with a long piggery where the garden now is, and both Sam and I have some incredibly happy memories here.
We wanted a relaxed, garden party style reception, where we could invite as many people as we wanted, could have our dog with us and didn’t have any time restrictions. And just as we’d hoped, the party went on until around 3am!
The day and evening were exactly as we’d imagined. It was beautifully sunny, super chilled and everything we’d dreamt of.
When I was looking for my dress, I knew I wanted something classic, timeless and with a lot of lace. I wasn’t really interested in any bling or accessories.
My dress was by Naomi Neoh, from the Bespoke Wardrobe. I actually found the dress on Pinterest, when we first got engaged. I never imagined I would be able to locate it in this country, let alone ten minutes down the road from me in the village of Ingatestone. It was definitely meant to be!
I opted for very simple gold and pearl accessories, with a single pearl necklace and understated drop pearl earrings. My bracelet was bespoke, from the incredible Hiho Silver, as were the bridesmaid’s navy and silver friendship bracelets.
The dogs wore adorable tweed accessories, kindly sent to us from Hettie.
The thing that stands out most, to me, though, when I look back on the day, is how grateful I feel for the people in my life!
Honestly, I feel so amazingly lucky to be surrounded by so many good, supportive, loving people, it’s a little overwhelming. Everyone worked so hard, both in the run up and on the day, to make our wedding totally perfect and I can’t thank them enough.
And then there’s my new husband… Sam and I have been together for fourteen years, since we were just sixteen and he is my best friend in the world! We’ve grown up together, already supported one another through so many different life situations and I can’t wait for the rest of forever with him.
Here’s to the next adventure!
