Yay! My first shoot back to work, after a whole month off. I have to admit, although the wedding and honeymoon were both incredible, I was genuinely excited to get back out with my camera. And my first shoot didn’t disappoint.
Sherrie and I travelled over to Thorndon Country Park, in Brentwood to meet Pollyanna and her two ponies, Blaze and Louie. I have actually photographed Louie before with his old owner, so it was nice to see him again.
First up was Blaze. ‘Eternal Blaze’ is a fourteen year-old Welsh Section V cross Arab, with a calm and chilled attitude, and was Polly’s childhood pony. He is currently on loan to a family in Hadleigh as Polly has outgrown him. And she boxed him over to her yard, especially for the shoot.
Blaze is a fab allrounder and he and Polly used to compete a lot in their time together. Polly says ‘Blaze could always dig me out of any bad stride or situation.” And she tells me that he is doing a great job of teaching his new jockey everything he knows.
Louie was next in front of my lens and what an absolute head-turner this chap is. He totally knows it, too. Dolybont Llewelyn is seven years old, and is also Welsh cross Arab, with some Sports Horse in his bloodlines.
Louie has sadly had some time off due to injury, lately, but is now coming back into work and having lots of TLC to get him back to full fitness.
Louie has been shown, by his old owner, up to county level, when he was younger. Polly says that Louie loves to jump, but that she is hoping that he will be able to enjoy happy hacking and low level showing, once he is back in full work.
Thank you so much to Polly and Diane for having us and for a lovely afternoon, and as always, to Sherrie, for making our gorgeous client feel a million dollars!
