Last week I took a trip over to a yard I visited last year, in Higham, Kent, to meet Raphaelle, Rachael and their three gorgeous girls.
First up I met Raphaelle. And the main focus of our shoot was evelen year-old KWPN, Libby. She is by Stedinger (Sandro Hit) x Cabochon. Libby’s showname is ‘Bevrijdings Goud Bonzelma’. (Virtual prizes for correct pronunciation) The word Bevrijdings means Liberation, which how she got the name Liberty, or Libby, at home.
Raphaelle has owned Libby for five years and in 2015 she decided to put her in foal. She flew over to Germany to watch the stallion shows, in Vechta, and eventually chose Schockemoehle stallion, Grey Flanell (who is by Gribaldi x Clavecimbel x Ferro).
And that brings me nicely to little Giselle, or ‘Rock On Grand Amour’ as she is more formally known, who arrived on the scene in May 2016, at 3.12am.
Raphaelle says that Libby has been the perfect first time mum. And that Giselle is easy in every way, very playful and sweet. And although Raphaelle’s plans for Giselle centre on a dressage career, she was apparently already fence hopping at a very early age, so perhaps would prefer life as eventer. Lol!
Thank you so much to Raphaelle for having me, and for organising the shoot. Your girls are absolutely beautiful and I look forward to following baby Giselle’s progress.
Tomorrow I’ll share some images from Rachael and Lily’s part of the shoot.
