My second shoot at the weekend was with Rebecca and Corky. I have been admiring this pony on Facebook for a while now, so I was delighted when Rebecca got in touch and asked to book a shoot.
We first met when I photographed Becka and her previous cob, a few years back. And it’s always lovely to visit clients a few years later to see how they’re doing and catch up.
Becka wanted to find a nice location for her shoot, so that we’d have plenty of options for backgrounds, and she managed to source a stunning house in Rivenhall, with the most beautiful grounds. We also had beautiful early evening weather, so all in all, the perfect setting.
Nine year-old, part bred Welsh pony, Corky was purchased by a friend of Rebecca’s, from Daniel Kinson, to be a happy hacker, but before long, she decided to pass Becka the reins (quite literally).
With her love for showing, Rebecca decided to try Corky in the showing ring.
She tells me that their relationship definitely got off to a rocky start and their lowest moment together was when Corky decided to dump her in the ring at Windsor. Not quite the image she’d had in mind, when she’d dreamed of riding at the prestigious show.
However, since then, they’ve found an amazing in instructor and she says that Corky has turned out to be the best little horse she could have hoped for.
Last year, Rebecca and Corky got pulled in 9th, at RIHS, in a class of 48 coloured ponies. And they have tried everything from cross country, to side saddle, to concours d’elegance, jumping, dressage, pairs and plenty of showing.
I absolutely love this chap and thoroughly enjoyed our shoot together, not only is he totally my type, but he’s a real character, too. Thank you, Rebecca, for letting me at your gorgeous boy! If you ever need to move him on, you know where to send him!
Now booking for Spring and Summer 2017.
