You may have seen my post about Harriet and Dusty, yesterday. Well, this is the second installment of our shoot up in Norfolk, last weekend, where I worked with Harriet’s sister, Sarah and her horse, Suki.
Sarah has owned ‘Wixstone Suzuki’, or ‘Suki’ to his friends, since September 2016, so he’s a relative newbie to the family. He is seventeen years-old and has previously tried his hand at unaffiliated jumping and a spot of affiliated dressage. So Suki is a bit of an allrounder.
As they haven’t been together long, Sarah and Suki have yet to get out competing, but hope to do mainly showjumping and have been jumping up to a metre, at home. They’re aiming to get out and about in the next few weeks.
Sarah tells me that although Suki is quite a cheeky chappy, he really loves to please. And this could not have been more evident throughout our shoot. We were in hysterics as every time I pointed my lens at Suki he stood tall and gazed off into the distance, ears forward. Honestly, it was like he just knew! It’s very rare that I get an equine model quite as easy as Suki!
I also met the gorgeous Dylan, who is a six year old Labrador cross Dalmation (a ‘Dalmador’) who Suki allowed to share his limelight for a short while.
And Sarah says that Dyland and Suki are rather firm friends, with Dylan copying Sarah’s every move when she schools Suki… walk, trot, canter, circles… Dylan is right there with them.
Thank you to Harriet, Sarah and their lovely mum, for making our day in Strumpshaw an absolute pleasure. Despite it blowing a gale, we had a great time and loved meeting the whole gang!
