Towards the end of last year, I took a drive over to Bishops Stortford to see Vicky and her managerie of animals.

We had two objectives for our shoot… One was to photographer two of her horses out in the field and the other was to capture her newest arrivals on camera; a litter of four, four-week old Jackahuahua puppies!

I truly believe that there is nothing on this earth that is better for the soul than puppies, so I just could not wait to get there and sniff them.

Vicky bred the pups from her beautiful Jackahuahua, Tinkerbelle, who is the cuddliest little Mrs. with the sweetest temprement. She sought out the perfect Daddy, with the same loving traits and was blessed with four beautiful, characterful puppies as a result.

They all have fabulous family homes to go to, so I’m afraid you can’t all take one home. Although I’m pretty sure I could have swiped one and hidden it in my handbag if I’d tried hard enough.

After we’d cuddled puppies in the warmth of Vicky’s living room, we went out into the cold, but beautifully sunny afternoon, to see two of her horses, Steve and Prada, who were more than willing to show off for us.

Seven year-old Steve is an ex National Hunt horse, called Wootsteps, which Vicky bought a couple of years ago, with the intention of schooling him on and selling him to a nice home.

Two years later, Steve is part of the family and is doing ROR classes, with much success. He went Reserve Racehorse Champion of Britain and the Royal London and has stood champion twice. Vicky says that he is the sweetest of all of her horses and loves to be pampered and cuddled.

And then there was the little diva of the family, Prada. Prada is home bred, out of a little mare that Vicky bought ‘for peanuts’ and is by Ambershire Finishing Touch. She has Pretty Polly, Holly of Spring and Chancely Stud lines, so is very well bred.

Prada is also seven and although she has been out and about a few times, she mostly fulfills the role of being a fabulous, but cheeky field companion to Vicky’s show horses.

Vicky’s horses are all home produced and she even has her own show team page, at https://www.facebook.com/TeamVTEquine/?ref=br_rs
