Yesterday I was fortunate enough to attend the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials, for the first time. And I was there in collaboration with Hiho Silver and Burghley themselves, to kick off the #HihoStyleSpotter competition!
We are searching for the best dressed Burghley visitor, to win some gorgeous Hiho goodies.
So, my job yesterday was to wander the shopping aisles, on a mission to find well dressed shoppers. And it was so much fun!
But don’t worry if you weren’t in attendance yesterday. The competition is running until close of play on Saturday and a winner will be announced on Sunday. To enter, all you need to do is upload your own image to either Instagram or Twitter and use the hashtag #HihoStyleSpotter
You can also go to the Burghley Facebook page and add your image to the comments of this post.
Here were some fab entries from day one…
So, on our day as Hiho Style Spotters, what did we spot?
Well, as you’d imagine, a lot of gilets, boots, shirts, hats and brand names.
Burghley sponsors, Joules, Hiho Silver, Musto and Dubarry were easy to spot and made regular appearances. And of course, Fairfax & Favour boots were everywhere you looked. With Le Chameau, and Ariat featuring heavily, too.
A lot of people had dressed for the mud, but luckily we had a beautiful sunny day and the ground remained dry.
Handbags seemed to be making a statement, yesterday, with Fairfax and Favour leading the pack, once again, and Mulberry, Michael Kors and Louis Vuitton not far behind.
Lots of people had opted for splashes of colour, whether it was a brightly coloured blazer, eye-catching jeans, a statement scarf or multicoloured wellies. Stripes and spots were a regular occurrence, too. Although white jeans were definitely the leading theme of the day.
And of course, as is always the case with country and equestrian fashion, there was an array of beautiful textures. Fur, tweed, denim, leather, suede, quilted gilets… One of the things I love the most about country fashion is the mixture of textures and this was certainly evident yesterday.
So, if you’re heading down to Burghley today or tomorrow, please do enter the competition. We’d love to see your outfit and the brands you’ve chosen to wear.
Just upload your images and use the hashtag and the winner will be chosen on Sunday.
And lastly, an absolutely huge thank you to both Hiho Silver (as always!) and everyone at Burghley, for having me. Both such lovely teams to work with and so welcoming. I had a really great day and can’t wait to return next year!
